New Installations and Emergency Repairs

Central Well & Pump Service provides new installations as well as emergency repairs on submersible pumps. We have two pump trucks ready for you whenever you need us.

You can count on us to service all major brands. We also custom fit every pump to meet your requirements.

Submersible Well Pumps

Submersible well pumps are the most common types of pumps used today for well water applications. Just like their name says they are installed submerged in the water. Submersible pumps have two distinct advantages. They are installed in the water, so they do not have to draw water up like an old style jet pump would. Submersible pumps only have to push water.

They are also much more efficient as they use multiple impellers to deliver the water to its end user from the well. Because of these advantages, submersible pumps can deliver a higher flow rate and more pressure with less horsepower.

Submersible pumps can range from ½ HP up to a 1,000 HP. Most residential applications are from ½ HP to 7-1/2 HP. In addition to being sized by horsepower, they also come in different flow ranges. Typically, we will see in residential applications from 5 gallons per minute to 35 gallons per minute. Submersible pumps typically have a lifespan of about 10-15 years.

Variable Frequency Drives

Variable Frequency Drives also known as variable speed drives and constant pressure drives are becoming commonplace in residential, commercial, and agricultural pumping systems. A “VFD” allows a pump motor to run at different speeds.

Standard pumps run at a fixed speed of 60 hertz. A VFD panel allows a pump motor to run between 0 to 80 hertz depending on the type of pump. Most VFD’s will receive a signal from a pressure transducer which tells the VFD what the water pressure in the system is. Upon receiving the signal, the pump will speed up or slow down to keep the pressure constant and match the water usage demand.

Besides just constant pressure, VFD’s have numerous benefits. The benefits include soft start capabilities, power savings, smaller wire needs, motor protection features, and of course the benefits of eliminating water hammer from your plumbing systems. We offer a wide range of VFD panels to fit your needs.
